Circuit Excel was established in South Australia from 2010, with a national set of rules introduced in 2014.  In 2021 the category finally made its start in the NT and immediately attracted significant interest.

Since 2010, Circuit Excel has rapidly established itself as a cost effective and competitive series, using Hyundai Excel's with limited modifications for fast, fun and affordable racing and a great way to get started on track.

As one of the best selling cars in Australia during the 1990's, parts and cars are readily available at low cost.
