Top End Electrical Circuit and Drift NT Titles
About Circuit Racing
NAMSC facilitates circuit racing for 4 categories. These categories include Improved Production, Commodore Cup and HQ Holden and the street class, Lapsprint.
Improved Production is one of the fastest growing categories of circuit racing in Australia. Improved Production cars are defined as 'commercially available touring cars' and are allowed a reasonable level of modification to allow both the racer and the designer room to create an exciting form of race car.
Commodore Cup was an Australian motor racing series. A one-make series originally devised by Victorian racers Maurie Platt and David Gittus, it was named for the car all competitors were required to use in competition, the Holden Commodore.
HQ Holden - It may be easy to drive a fast car quickly, but driving a nearly standard HQ Kingswood, complete with 3.3 Litre 6 cylinder and 3 speed manual, now that’s a challenge!
Lapsprint - Is an event unique to the NT. It was introduced over 20 years ago and was developed to provide a basic introduction point to motor sport and to provide track experience that supports progression to circuit racing. All you need is a standard street registered car, long pants, covered shoes, long sleeve shirt and a helmet as well as the relevant club membership and CAMS licensing. We can help you arrange all of this on the day. Lap Sprinters are released on to the track at intervals with the aim to better your track time and develop your racing and driving skills.
About Drifting
Drifting is an extreme sideways form of motor sport! Drifting is all about controlled slides around a series of corners. Big horsepower, big slides, loads of smoke and full on action, drifting is a judged sport like snowboarding and surfing and not determined by outright speed or time. Drift battles see drivers go head to head and attempt to mirror each other’s slides. A thrill for drivers and spectators, drifting’s full on action is taking the motor sport world by storm
